Writing about experiences proves to be healing process for former detective

Detective Christopher M. Archer of Frederick experienced a tragedy at age 10 that impacted his life deeply. He witnessed the death of his older brother. Overcome with feelings of anger, confusion and guilt, as an adult he chose to come to terms with the tragedy in a career -- police work -- on the streets of Washington.
The job ultimately brought him to experience the sadness and despair of others and to find an avenue that helped him through his own emotional struggle -- writing.
