Plano author explores life lessons through child’s eyes

Plano resident Cindy Barnett Armstrong wasn’t sure where her children’s book, “Boudreaux and His Buddies,” would lead when she started writing. But, during the creative process, Boudreaux, his buddies and Armstrong all learned a few lessons about life as they looked on with the rest of the country as the Big Easy was brought to its knees in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

The story follows Boudreaux, a whimsical alligator with childlike innocence, and his buddies through their adventures around their home in Honey Island swamp in southern Louisiana.
