His books are mentioned in the article
Dan: Hi Joe. I want to point out to our readers in case they haven't seen your column here that you do the monthly Gardening column for us in The Gazette. You're also a published author and I appreciate your taking the time for this interview. Why don't you tell us about yourself?
Joe: I was born in Bushwick, a section of Brooklyn, New York in 1948. My father Frank was a super (superintendent) for a six story apartment building. After his death we moved to another part of Brooklyn called East New York. When I was a teenager I fell in love with Art and writing. The first time I wrote a poem was when President Kennedy died. I didn't write anything again until I was in my twenties. Then in my thirties, I started to take my writing seriously. I once wrote a book of poems, then I would write short stories. As a kid I could never get enough of reading, the one writer I got hooked on, his name was Frank Edwards. He wrote books such as "Stranger Than Strange," and "Stranger Than Fiction." His stories were great.
