Divine inspiration aids Ferndale writer

FERNDALE -- Sometimes, when you least expect it, God is listening.
Or at least that's what Ferndale author Karen Correll discovered after she begged for guidance one night.
Correll had written 60 pages of a humorous nonfiction book about dating when her computer's hard drive crashed, zapping all her work. Unable to recover any of it, Correll, 34, was devastated. She abandoned the book for a month until friends urged her to start again. About 10 pages in, she stopped.
