Getting published in spare time

When Kathie Decker had a lot more time after her children left the house and life seemed to slow down a little, she resurrected a past passion.
“I think I always had something going on. But, lately, I've seemed to have a lot more time,” said Decker, 57, of Leland. And with that time, Decker decided to write a book. “Restless Spirit” was recently published by PublishAmerica, which uses digital on-demand printing technology to print limited runs and distributes to online bookstores, such as Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Decker's book was printed Dec. 26 last year and sells for around $20.
