Finding His Purpose
Chillicothe Gazette, December 10, 2005 by Laura Hambrick

WESTERVILLE - When multiple sclerosis took a career in aerial photography from Doug Jenkins, he did what he'd never had time for - he wrote a book.

"The Making of Tibias Ivory," Jenkins' fictional novel, is the volatile story of what happens when two teenagers dare to cross accepted racial and cultural lines.

The story, set in the late 1960s in the deep South, gives voice to much of Jenkins' own experience of life in Chillicothe as a boy - and his ideologies.
