Local writer finds inspiration in the mystery she started 15 years ago

When most people think of Las Vegas, they imagine the infamous strip of casinos. They picture elaborately staged Cirque du Soleil shows and the Bellagio’s dancing fountains. More than likely, they visualize blackjack tables and slot machines.

Back in the late 1980s, as Corvallis woman Sandi Dollar drove through the Nevada high desert with her husband on their way to Sin City, her mind gravitated toward crime.
