Enfield Author Katherine Marple uses fictional reality to bring characters to life

Making it through your teenage years can be difficult for anyone, and it was no different for Katherine Marple, the 22-year-old author of the novel, "Test."
At the time Marple, who graduated from Fermi High School in 2002, was living with her mother after her parents' divorce but didn't have someone to talk to about the insecurities associated with growing up.
"So I used writing as an outlet and began putting my thoughts on paper," says Marple, who works as a teller at People's Bank on Hazard Avenue. "I always wrote and kept journals. I work through a lot of my problems through writing. It helps me organize my thoughts."
