Another fictional entry,“For the Sake of the Children” by K.C. Weaver of Rockville, Md., is an account of an immigrant family’s journey to America and Depression-era Johnstown.
Weaver, whose family lived in Johnstown, uses facts about the 1889 and 1936 Johnstown floods to tell her story, which is written at a young-adult level.
“For the Sake of the Children” is available online at Barnes & Noble, Amazon Books, Borders Books and Publish America for $14.95.
