Marytr's Cry

Murder, She Wrote meets Touched by an Angel in a gripping tale of unrequited love, unconfessed sin, and murder! Bishop John Wesley Hunter is being haunted by the ghost of Heather Beeson…a woman he knew, and loved, nearly 20 years ago…a woman who left him broken-hearted…a woman who’s been brutally murdered. Who killed her? Why? And why did she leave Hunter’s arms so long ago? In the tradition of Father Brown and Brother Cadfael, Bishop Hunter embarks on this fast–paced mystery for hopeless romantics. Along the way he learns that if you don’t deal with the ghosts of your past, the ghosts of your past will deal with you!

Larry D. Bohall's Biography:
Larry D. Bohall is a passionate motivational speaker and certified trainer who has worked with Fortune 500 companies and professional organizations nationwide. A Duke graduate, he's authored hundreds of articles and short stories, has worked extensively in advertising and broadcasting, and lives in Missouri with his family and several pets.

Larry D. Bohall's "fast-paced mystery for hopeless romantics" is a novel of humor, pathos and expertly executed suspense. Martyr's Cry has a uniquely three-tiered plotline, rich characterizations, and fluid prose that is all seeing, all knowing and all wise. Mystery, romance and spirituality mesh in a complicated looping of faith versus fantasy, hope versus heartache, and healing versus loss. Mr. Bohall will alternately strip one's heart bare and kick start one's adrenaline with a well-timed action sequence -- all while endearing Bishop Hunter to readers and exposing his vulnerabilities, strengths and triumphs to the world at large.
Alert readers will clue in to the identity of the mastermind behind the crimes in Martyr's Cry, but will still puzzle over the character's motivations and reasoning. Also, the novel's ending is foisted rather abruptly on a reader, but then, Bishop John Wesley Hunter still has a fairly long stretch of road ahead of him to travel, and a series of mystery novels to do it in (or so I hope). Thus, the only cry you'll hear from this reviewer is a plea for the talented Mr. Bohall to continue writing about Bishop Hunter and his Colombo-like compatriot, Detective Columbus. - C.L. Jeffries - Heartstrings
