Okaloosa's 1st board-certified surgeon looks back

Having a surgeon nearby seems natural these days, but it wasn’t always that way.
When Dr. Gene Celano opened the doors to his practice in 1960, he became the first board-certified surgeon in Okaloosa County and would remain the only one for 14 years.
