Around Annapolis: Eastport woman celebrates her 100th birthday

PublishAmerica sent us a note that the Frederick-based company has published "The Keeper" by Cheryl Y. Fisher of Annapolis. The book is composed of thee intertwining stories and can be considered a handbook, workbook and a journal to provide the reader with support and solace.
One thread is the tale of how an 11-year-old girl diagnosed with juvenile diabetes attempts to balance her life as a soccer goal keeper, student and teen. In another vein, a social worker and single mom mourns the loss of her healthy child and seeks guidance and wisdom on how to maintain a sense of normalcy in a family disrupted by juvenile diabetes. Lastly, there is the story of an Almighty Keeper and the effect of this spirit on the family.
Cheryl has provided counseling for 18 years in the areas of life transitions, grief, loss and trauma and is a graduate student at Loyola College where she plans to obtain a doctorate in pastoral counseling.
