Author James Ciullo
The Artful Mind magazine, August 2002 by Nanci Race

Intrigue, excitement, romance, and an idyllic, exotic locale are captured in pages of A TANGO IN TUSCANY, a new novel by local author James Ciullo. TANGO, published by PublishAmerica, is a real "page-turner," truly an Italian tale written by Italian-American Ciullo, with support and advice from fellow novelist, Teddy Randisi; cover design by Regina Burgio; and some expert advice from Betty Palucci, a former English teacher. A TANGO IN TUSCANY begins when the peaceful harmony of an Italian vacation villa is disrupted after the advent of the protagonist, Claudio, an Argentine physician. Ciullo leads readers on an exhilarating path of danger and complicity with Claudio and a cast of supporting characters who are searching for answers and fulfillment.

Ciullo spent over 25 years working in the Berkshire's human services community. For 15 years he was the director of Mental Retardation Services for the State of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (and later) Mental Retardation, and is still a field consultant and volunteer. Ciullo is also on the staff of Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts.

Ciullo's background as a former Peace Corps volunteer and world traveler has enriched his writing with elements of realism that make his fictional characters and settings explode into life.
