Frederick, Maryland — PublishAmerica is proud to present "Girl from the Shadows" by Julie A. Dickson from Somersworth, N.H.
Sixteen-year-old Sierra finds herself alone in a strange city after leaving her abusive father. She stays in hiding, trusting almost no one and reading to pass the long hours. She is a lonely teenaged girl who works hard in a local restaurant as she longs for a normal life. Sierra discovers that while all people are not like her father, being alone has its challenges.
Dickson's books include a poetry book, Forest Nectars; two children's books: Caterpillar and Fat Cat Buys a Hat [illustrated by local artist Rob Morini]; a fantasy-fiction book called Chronicles of Dragon Lore, and The Nine Lives of Here Kitty, which benefits local nonprofit Voice For Animals, a feral cat trap-neuter-return group.
Dickson has been a New Hampshire resident since 1980 and has been a writer for most of her life. She currently makes her home in Somersworth. She has several new projects using local artistic talent. Much of her work captures teen and life issues, written with sensitivity and humor.
Girl From the Shadows is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.com.
