Author Finds way through 'Smoke'

Hagerstown resident Lew Duffey kept asking the question ‘what if?’ while writing his first book.
The question applied not only to his evolving plot but to the entire process of writing a book. What if he actually could write a book and what if he could get it published?
"I decided to write this book basically to prove to myself that I could," says Duffey, whose first book, "Immaculate White Smoke" just finished its first printing. "It’s also an attempt to talk about the battle that goes on in us all, the battle of good and evil.
