Toledo poet publishes first collection

La Kata Epps' documentation of her life experiences through poetry attracted the attention of a national publisher. The result is the book “The Growth of a Writer, The Depth of My Soul,” released last month.
Epps' softcover 140-page book of poetry covers subjects ranging from family, love, self-discovery, her father and others, which includes more than 100 poems she has accumulated since she started writing poetry at 13-years-old.
