Jam session to kick off Evansville Jazz Society

At 2 p.m. Saturday, Sherri L. Gibson will sign "A Doorway to Hearts." This novel tells the story of the struggle to maintain a friendship between Blazing Star, an Ogalala warrior, and Trent Walker, a U.S. soldier.
The story moves from their first meeting on a Missouri riverbank to the battles of Rosebud and Little Bighorn.
The novel, produced through the publish-on-demand house PublishAmerica, is 664 pages and is priced at $39.95.
It's the first part in a fictional Western trilogy Gibson plans to publish.
She has finished a second novel and is working on a horror novel along with a book of poetry.
