Fed up with teaching? Ready to quit? Betty Murray has a word of advice: Don’t.

In fact, she has thousands of words that might get you over the hump. She put them all in a book, “Determined to Teach,” the story of her 40 years in education.

She wrote the autobiography, due out in December from PublishAmerica, to encourage frustrated teachers. The book describes her disheartening start as a rookie teacher coping with the wrath of a tyrannical principal. She stuck it out and used the experience to guide her throughout her career. It taught her what not to do, she said.
