Waelder woman pens racing mystery novel
The Gonzales Inquirer, August 4, 2006
Publish America is proud to present Racing by Waelder, Texas's J. Spicer Parr.
From the bayou country of Southern Louisiana, jockey Joe Leblanc rises to fame, only to fall at the hands of an unknown power. Banished from his father and trying to keep his family out of harm's way, he does as he is told-until they go one step too far and then he begins a quest that will set the record straight. In the process, a twenty-year old murder is solved and a wicked power is brought to justice.
Racing is J. Spicer Parr's first book with Publish America. Her father introduced her to the sport of horse racing at an early age. Parr married a man who was also connected to the sport and worked in the mutual department at various tracks across the nation. Parr has two sons. The eldest, Randy, has been a jockey, trainer and an asistant starter. Her youngest son, Lee, works at a well-known computer company.
Publish America is the home of 20,000 talented authors. Publish America is a traditional publishing company whose primary goal is to encourage and promote the works of new, previously undiscovered writers. Like more mainstream publishers, Publish America offers a distinctly personal, supportive alternative to vanity presses and less accessible publishers.
