Inspirational author tells battle with cancer

In March 1996, Connie Pombo of Lancaster County was diagnosed with breast cancer.
In "Trading Ashes for Roses: From Pain to Passion -- A Celebration of Life Beyond Cancer" (PublishAmerica, $16.95), Pombo shares her emotional story of the shock, anger, fear, denial and depression she experienced and of her renewed faith in God and joy and purpose in life.
Pombo is an inspirational author, speaker and founder of Women's Mentoring Ministries in Mount Joy. In the 120-page book, she provides a resources list and discusses how caregivers, family and friends can help with the healing process.
