AMY REDFORD, a Manteo artist, First Flight Middle School Teacher and now author, stands with a copy of her new book "Once You Have Flown," which hit bookstores July 19. Redford tells the coming-of-age story of Ruby Fraser, who hears the sound of a small plane flying over the deck of her Frisco vacation home which triggers memories of the trials and tribulations of life.
