OBS Honors: Globe-trotter

Amy Redford, now in her third year of teaching sixth grade social studies at First Flight Middle School, is a published author and an acrylic arts painter who is known not only on the Outer Banks, but also internationally.
While rearing her daughter Lindsay, Redford began teaching 15 years ago in Virginia Beach, where she taught fourth grade for seven years. She then traveled halfway around the world to teach in international schools, spending two years in Japan, followed by two years in Germany, where she taught second- and third-grade students.
