ST. CLOUD - Like many children, middle-school teacher Barbara J. Robinson had a childhood that included some hard knocks. One of the worst was her father's death when she was 4.

Such experiences recently led her to write a somewhat autobiographical novel, Magnolia: A Wilting Flower.
