Mountain View teacher writes mystery book that does a little teaching, too.

Years of teaching from dull textbooks have inspired Johnson City teacher Liz Shore to write a series of mystery novels for schoolchildren complete with integrated curriculum activites to jazz up learning.
"I had always wanted to do this and just didn't have time," Shore said, adding that she completed the first book in the series over a one-year sabbatical from teaching. "I came up with the idea because the textbooks are slightly dry and I wanted to make learning fun."
