Grainger County inspires new adventures
Morristown Citizen Tribune, March 12, 2006 by Stan Johnson

The pleasure of living amidst hills, lakes and friendly folks is also being discovered by a rapidly growing group of people in the Lakeway Area called “halfbacks.” They’re people who moved from the northern regions of the United States to Florida, only to learn life in the Sunshine State doesn’t have much to offer other than too much sun, too much sand and too many people who are not very friendly.

They want to rectify their mistake of moving too far south by getting out of Florida, but they don’t want to go back to the land of snow, ice and the hustle of the life they thought they had escaped. So they settle halfway back north by moving to the hills of East Tennessee, where many discover the best living they have ever known.
