Louisiana Book News: Several new books feature Bayou State

Louisiana always has been blessed with an overflow of talented writers, but the new year is busting at the seams with new books by and about the Bayou State. With so many new books to read, it's hard to fit them all into the confines of this column. But I'll try my best and have many more to report on in upcoming Sundays.
Acadiana's John Wormser, author of The Radio Philosopher in which a radio deejay preaches acceptance of all religions, has released a new novel, A Happy Life and the Keys to Heaven (PublishAmerica, $16.95). Wormser's new novel tells the story of Tim Burke, who deeply loves two women, businesswoman Ann Malano and nurturing Arlene Steinwitz. Through serendipity, Burke has a chance to live happily with them both - until he is arrested. The subsequent trial and the issues it brings into focus become as popular as the Scopes trial.
