" "Whoo, who!!!!! I had my first Book Party last Friday, July 18, '08 and it was a success!!!! I had 25-30 people rsvp and maybe one or two did not attend. It was so cool!!!! I'm now moving on to the next promotional. I have made some contacts with scheduling book signings. I'm going to be out of state next month and I'm hoping to make some contacts there, too." "

" "I use to work for a HUGE department store, and when my first book came out, quite a few coworkers bought it. Well, I had recieved a shipment of my second book, and had to go to the store to do some shopping, so I took some with me. I ended up selling 4 copies to repeat customers, I was so excited! It's an awesome feeling! ... I'd never even thought about publishing a book until friends said I should get my one story out there. That one I did so I could say that I could. My second one, I wrote with the intention of getting it published, but didn't realize how good it was till my one friend read the unfinished story and threatened me if I didn't get to writing the next chapter." " "I am literally on cloud 9 here. That day was the start of it all. My son carried a few books to work with him that day & sold them so he came home with that great news for me as well!! By nightfall the next day, we had sold a grand total of 10! I know it don't sound like much but to me....it might as well be a thousand. We celebrated by going out on a shopping trip (more looking than buying but it was fun). Of course, we had to go get our hair done first & that was a great trip. The lady that owns it asked about the magnet on my truck, which got us talking about the book. I ended up handing out several announcements that day and she said if I'd bring her a poster and stack of books, she'd make each of her customers buy one. (haha) Overall, this is really turning out to be alot of fun. We have incorporated book sales with our 10 mile bike ride each day as well. We see someone at home - stop and try to make a sale. It works cause there are alot of people that see me & 4 kids bike riding & stop us just to talk about that." "

" "Although I rarely get the chance to go by my local library, my daughter goes by there regularly. The other day she couldn't wait to call me with the news. There was still a waiting list for the Sea Huntress and Elizabeth's Revenge. The library was trying to purchase a copy of the 3rd book, Pirate's Blood but couldn't because all of the distributors are saying that it is out of stock. People are trying to put themselves on a waiting list for when it come in, but the library won't do that until it does. Nice to have a following." "

" "I am from a small town and when everyone heard I wrote a book and it was published, the phone was ringing off the wall. I don't even have my author copies and people want to buy my book. Ah, the beauty of a small community. Everyone is wishing me good luck and want to know when and where they can get a copy. The local newspaper did a front page story and it was wonderful. Not one negative. I let everyone know it is not "Gone With The Wind", but just a small paperback, like one of my friends called an "airplane book". Of course that would depend on how long the flight lasted. No one cares how small or short the story, they are just excited for me and anxious to read the book. My market may be small, but my support is huge. I have already placed an order and need to order more. I wouldn't trade places with anyone from a big city. I feel like a local celebrity. Now I just hope they like the book. lol." "

" "I visted Las Vegas not so long ago and while I was there, my husband bought me a hat. We had it special made with my website url on it, sewn on the hat I chose. I wore this hat everywhere. Immediatly I noticed people reading my hat. When I checked my traffic report, I saw it climbed in that area so it does work! Many people even asked me about the hat. I told them who I was and what the website was all about. Next thing I knew, I was signing anything they had on them and they ordered my book! It was totally awsome seeing that type of reaction." "

" "I just returned home from my bbok signing at Borders. It went wonderfully. I sold out within 30 minutes and Borders then began taking orders. They asked me to come back for another book signing in September. I can't believe how great it went. they made me feel very welcome. They even told me they were ordering more to keep on their shelves. I can hardly wait until my next book signing on June 21 at Hastings." "
