I will be telling my stories at the WOW conference in Tampa, FL Sept. 14-16 2007 -I will be at the Osyka Civic Club Fall Arts and Crafts Festival on October 6, 2007 sharing my stories. " "Today I had the rare and wonderful experience of meeting one of my readers. The daughter of a student at the University where I teach stopped by to have me sign her copy of my book. This wasn't an event or a book signing, it was just a reader who wanted to talk about the book and have me sign her copy. It was such a thrill to talk with this 9 year old and hear what she thought about the book and the characters. She discussed her favorite parts and asked when the next one was coming out. Wow- what a feeling I have felt many things since I became an author, but few of them matched the joy that I had today when I saw my story through the eyes of this child. I feel so honored and proud, so amazed and overwhelmed. Mostly I feel validated because my book is being well received by the people for whom it was written. When children want to talk with you about your book then you know you have done a good job. I wish everyone at PA a moment of absolute joy as a writer such as I had today." "

" "I was recentley invited to talk about my books at the Church Media Library Conference, sponsored by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma even though I'm not a member of the Baptish Church. They found out about me from an article the Daily Oklahoman that appeared about six months ago. Never can tell what might come from a press release. It was a wonderful experience. After the speech, many who attended said they were going to order my book, Our Life In HIS Hands. Some said they were going to order two or three copies. One for their church library and others for themselves and family. I was also told by several that when my next book, Thirty-Seven Cents and a Prayer, is released they will be buying it. Then I was invited to come back next year. I understand that the Baptist General Convention of many other states sponsor such a conference. If yours does, you might want to volunteer to speak. It will be well worth your time. By the way, when I explained the situation to PA's author support, they were kind enough to determine an approximate release date for the second book, so I could tell the attendees to look for it." "

The email I recieved from the marketing department mentioned that the book was available on line. I checked in the book store. There it was. There are no words, even for an aspiring author, to describe the feeling when the beautiful cover and synopsis opened on the computer screen.
